My father, John H. Broehl Sr., was instrumental in the establishment and growth of my company.

It was my father that instilled in me such a strong work ethic.  It is he who taught me the value of customer relations and it is he who taught me to take such a deep level of pride in my work.  It is these qualities upon which we built Broehl's Lawn Maintenance, Inc.  It will be these very same qualities that we will continue to base our services upon in the future.

Please take a moment to read my father's obituary as was printed in The Home News Tribune on November 21, 2009:

Johannes "John" Broehl, died suddenly at home Friday, November 20, 2009.  Born in Cologne, Germany, Mr. Broehl resided in Somerset before moving to East Brunswick in 1972.  Prior to his retirement in 2000, he was the operations mananger for GATX in Carteret, where he worked for over 20 years.  Since his retirement from GATX, John took great pride in helping his son John grow his successful landscaping business, Broehl's Landscaping. A member of St. Bartholomew RC Church in East Brunswick, John was a former member of the East Brunswick Rescue Squad, and a volunteer for Senior meal deliveries for nearly 10 years.  He also coached youth soccer in East Brunswick for many years.  In his retirement John found great joy in helping others and enjoyed golfing, Rutgers  football and the New York Jets.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Ann Marie Nagy Broehl; a son, John and his wife Nora of East Brunswick; 4 daughters, Maria Edman and her husband Larry of Spring, TX, Theresa Garvey and her husband Richard of Freehold, Karen Minker and her husband John of Spring Grove, IL, and Karina Hichens and her husband Peter of East Brunswick.  John is also survived by 19 adoring grandchildren and his "pseudo" son, Glen Lee of NYC.
